A Beheading

This modern short story by Mohsin Hamid is characterized by its smooth and concise format, as well as its use of foreshadowing. It follows the story of a man who finds himself a target of extremists because of his job as a journalist. It follows his thoughts and emotions as he wonders what will happen to himself and his family in his last moments. I felt like this story used sympathy in a very effective way that made the story come alive. If this seems like a story you would be interested in reading I have included a link to it below.
